Ayusha Shrestha (World Miss University 2003)

Personal Information:

I am Ayusha Shrestha, born on 23rd August 1986. I've been known from the early age of 16 as a Vj and a Producer for conducting musical shows such as 'Music at 9' and 'Channel Pop' in Channel Nepal.

I'm a person who values Dedication to anything I do in life. I'm passionate about anything that's 'ART'. For me, Music and dance is another form of oxygen that keeps my soul alive. I'm an artist, more inclined towards sketching. However, I have an eye for anything that looks artistically appealing to me. Being a true Piscean, I'm full of spirituality inside. I'm a fun loving person, however, chose to be reserved, love to have good people around me and be of any help to my closed ones. Finally, I'm a person who totally believes in Giving more than Getting.

I am a celebrity
As I became a celebrity from comparatively an early age, from a Vj to winning World Miss University title, this continuous journey does keep me very well familiar with the Tag - Celebrity. Attending functions, events as a guest kept the Celebrity status ongoing. Generally, Celebrities usually are perceived and limited to Glamour. However, I have a different definition. A person becomes a Celebrity when he/she is appreciated for their work, effort, talent and passion. I've never tried to get lost in the 'so-called glamorous side' of the term Celebrity. I continue doing my best at what I do, and the Celebrity status just keeps following!

I am heads over heels in love with Media
I was always very keen on appearing on screen and hosting programs, due to which Channel Nepal came into the picture right after I finished my SLC. I had gone for an interview and got the job that very day and did my first shoot without a single re-take in that very week. That itself proved to me that Media is in my blood. After the 3 years journey in Channel Nepal where I not only anchored, but even produced my own shows, I later chose a city like Mumbai for pursuing my Media knowledge in one of the best colleges there. Out of 3000 applicants from all over India and Middle East, 60 students were handpicked, and I was the only Nepali chosen among that 60 cream students. That again proves my dedication towards learning media. After which, I topped my class in Mumbai, which proved completely to myself that Media is definitely what I am made for! Hence, I do admit that I am Head over heels in love with Media!

Miss World University experience
World Miss University held in Seoul, Korea is undoubtedly an experience of a lifetime for which these words will not suffice. It was indeed a great platform for a young girl like me to meet friends from all over the world, learn new things everyday and most importantly discover more about myself every second. That moment of winning the title was and always will remain the most emotional moment of my life. I can still feel the spotlight upon me when they announced my name as the Winner; I can still hear the echo of claps of thousands of audiences watching; I can still sense my watery eyes during this emotional capture of my life and most importantly I can never forget that sensation, the sensation called - Patriotism. For the first time, I truly felt how much I really loved my country as standing there amongst the strange crowd, I missed my Nepalese people more than I missed my parents. I truly wanted to celebrate with My People from My country , Nepal!

I'm more than a pretty face
I'm definitely more than a pretty face because I believe I've been able to analyze myself more in the inside than the outside of my being.

Earlier, when I was asked to chose to participate either in Miss World or World Miss University, I had chosen the latter, since this title is organized by the UN and half the prize money is donated for World Peace. Besides, I had been involved with Rotary Club, Jaycees and had even started my own NGO called 'Nepal Peace Initiative and Development Forum'. Even while I was in Mumbai, I was an active member of the Social club.

I believe that a true 'humanitarian effort' is when you yourself feel the pain of the issue otherwise we would just end up sympathizing or doing things in the name of Corporate Social Responsibility!

Secrets unfold
I'm an artist. I can dance for hours on end. I'm very fond of eating and have a great appetite. I love adventure - (did bungy jump few months back and trekked to Poonhill recently). I'm scared of cats and have fear of insects. More secrets still left to be discovered!

Watch your character, they become your Destiny!
